Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hard courts

A revitalized Medvedev won his first trophy for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The Russian, a former world number one, has experienced a torrid year, achieving just one win at the big events and experiencing a meltdown at the New York tournament.

His varied form on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in especial - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with long-term trainer Cervara.

Presently training with his coach and Goetzke, he has steadily progressed in the past month - culminating in a closely contested competitive triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This marks the player's maiden championship after the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface from March of that year.

Victory also signifies he has secured twenty-one championships at 21 distinct tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to win a title is particularly special," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my child Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my child Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his past six finals, featuring in Halle in the past months.

His counter-punching approach and frequent emotional displays on court had caused observers to wonder if his skill to compete at the elite level was concluded.

But the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and perform assertively, supported by an better serve.

Medvedev fought back from a break down in the initial set against the tricky opponent, winning 4 of the concluding five games to go ahead.

The competitors traded breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to force a third set.

The opponent rescued four initial chances in a competitive final set before Medvedev won the break to that score to close out the victory.

Appropriately, he earned the title with a shot at the net, with Moutet incapable to manage a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
